    I have broken three hexagon hotends in a row trying to remove the nozzle. Each time the nozzle snaps in two-the hexagonal head falls free and the threaded part of the nozzle remains screwed into the hotend--rendering it worthless.

    This is my process::

    1.) Preheat to 290

    2.) Twist heater block 20 degrees counter-clockwise (loosen)

    3.) Fix heat block with adjustable wrench and use 7mm wrench to rotate nozzle counter-clockwise

    It won't budge even with virtually all of my strength--until it snaps.

    I don't know what I'm doing wrong. One thing I've noticed is that the temperature drops on the order of 60 degrees the moment the wrench touches the nozzle (insane heat transfer). A solid 3-4 seconds after the wrenches are attached to the hotend the temperature has dropped to 230. Is this normal or is a steady temperature of 290ish required throughout the process?

    Any help would be much appreciated.

    ****UPDATE****

    I just now realized because I was looking at the extruder from above that I have been rotating the nozzle the wrong direction-cw instead of ccw.
