From time to time I see Red or Green LED flashes at the USB connector port.

    What do they signify?

They are the LEDs from the Arduino.

Red is normally power and green is just (by default) an activity LED*. I can't recall if Marlin uses them in some other way, but it is normal to see them blinking.

*Robo used Chinese clone mega boards and some of those used different colors so Red might be activity and Green power.
