the hex is stripped and I can not remove the Filament drive gear set screw. Before I drill it out, I'd like to know what the specs are. I see that partsbuild has the gear, but it's not clear if it comes with a new set screw.

Before you drill it out buy Bondhus allen wrenchs. They make a huge difference. According to my chart a 1.5mm allen wrench goes into a 3mm set screw.

I’ll be glad to, but if the set screw’s 1.5 mm hole is no longer 1.5, how would having their Allen wrench help ?

The odds are that a softer allen wrench did not fully round the the hole. Bondhus wrenches are very hard and their corners do not round. It often lets them take out a screw a softer wrench has messed up.

Drilling is tough because set screws are hardened. Try grabbing the gear with a pair of vice grips. Put the vice grips over a vice. Use a punch to hammer the shaft out of the gear. This removes all stress from the motor bearing. Then replace the gear. Use blue locktite and do not go gooduntight with the new gear.
