    It is recognizable :)
I would still lean towards a slicer although you might want to try fine-tuning your Z offset and print it again (lower it a fraction).
Some of that might just be sloppy first layer and if that is the case it would affect the bottom layer being solid on the previous one as well (not flattened out enough to merge the lines).

Is there a page where I can get recommended settings for Cura for the r1 plus? I don't use it just because there are so many fields to fill out and I'm 2 weeks into this. I'll try it again with Cura if there is such a page.

Wrong diameter settings can also cause this.
What is configured as your filament diameter and your nozzle diameter?

Also I highly suggest you look at the simulation view to see what matter control is actually trying to print.

Here is one from long ago. Sanity check it before using it.
I can't remember anything about it and I have not used Cura in a long time.
It was a working profile at one time

Sure. I put in machine dimensions and basic info I found from google. I realize now I can copy most of it from MatterControl anyway, though maybe the settings I had are the problem.

I put in 1.75mm filament (which I have) and .4mm nozzle. No offsets anywhere.

In simulation view it appears to be simulating exactly what it printed.

Offsets look correct assuming you didn't change anything.

Well that proves it is a slicer problem...
Did you change anything or did you use the default?

Well, yes and no. Your print was not exactly flat on top and had some of the lines crossing or darn near.
Like I said... it was recognizable.

Not much. Infill percents and shape, skirt and support settings, nothing that would affect the actual print.

Once you get the z offset established I'm sure most of your matter control settings will be ok. There will be tweaking to do but that's to be expected.
