    Hi.
I've been able to do some printing few days ago. HIPS only with a bit of warping....

Now when I try to print via USB as before. The bed is pre heating but as soon as it's ready, the extruder do not pre heat at all.
I've used the control panel to test both bed and extruder and there it works. But as soon I use the Begin printing Over USB again, the extruder stops the heating and the bed pre heats. As soon as the bed ready again, the extruder pre heating do not start.

    Any body went through this?

    I'm using simplify3D.
    Bed temp: 110 C
Extruder temp: 238 C (It did work few days ago at 245 C)
I've checked all wiring. Restarted the printer, the software......
At some point, pre heating was working but print was not starting and G code was reading super fast with the extruder not moving.

    Thanks in advance.

Any errors in the GCode terminal? If it is having issues or shutting off the heater there should be some feedback there.

MAXTEMP is usually a shorted thermistor.
    MINTEMP is an open circuit.

Trace the wiring and make sure it is good.

It could be a loose connection and intermittently reading OPEN.

Is it moving ? If not iis probably fine. Loose connection will fail when it is moving more likely than not

Get it hot and manually move thee extruder d wire harness. See if it fluctuates.

Well the fact remains that maxtemp is a short in the thermistor wiring. Or a cracked thermistor.

I just did heat the extruder up to 238 C with the control panel and moved the carriage left and right and up and down an nothing is changing.
Still same MAXTEMP error with Begin printing Over USB.

    Soooo.
I gave up and installed my brand new E3D V6 and everything now works perfectly.
For the ones that have ROBO3D R1 Plus, you should print:
    http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1192896
    As you will need it.
The actual one coming with the R1 Plus is not Thick enough for the E3D V6.
I'm sure that every body knows it already....

Nope. just the regular thermistor that came with the E3D V6.
Are the stud thermistors really better?

less fragile is all. If you need to replace the old one, use the stud one.
