So I recently replaced my heater core on my R1and it works fine now, but I ended up having to unplug a few wires in the process. I followed every picture and forum on re-plugging in all the wires and now the z-axis wont stop going down when I start the auto-leveling. I am assuming the z-axis end stop is either not plugged in correctly (which i have checked multiple times) or the switch itself is no longer working. I am unable to provide pictures unfortunately.

Hi Chris. No pictures means I'm going to do a wild guess. On you z switch if stock the middle will have no wire on it.m is this true in your case ?

The middle pins have no wire. All the end stops are plugged in the correct areas. X and Y limit switches seem to be working fine

Use the M119 command from a terminal window. Send it as the x sits and again with you lifting one side of the x up. Anything? Did you check the RAMPs to make sure it's all plugged in as it should? Can't see why the z would get unhooked with a heater cartridge replacement.

You have at least one Z switch that is stuck open or at least thinks it is :)

    (could be a loose wire)

Both of my red wires are inside and black on the outside because one of the switches is reversed

So I wonder I it is just a bad switch, but that is interesting timing that either or both would go bad during a heat cartridge replacement. They are cheap on Amazon if you wanted to splurge and by some new ones to check out. If the wiring is good, not sure what else it would be at the moment. Can you hear them clicking when you lift off and on?

The switches are good. I don't know if switching the boards messed with the firmware or messed up a pin, but it the z-axis is still not stopping on the way down when the switches are released.

Sanity check where the Z home lands on the RAMPS.
Make sure it is still correctly on there.

The picture of where they are on the ramps board is hard to see(so it may be that) but are you certain they are connected correctly? Looks like i see a 2nd row of pins ?

You will have a full set of pins open that arnt shown for endstops but the pohoto will show you where the switches connect and on what pins

Yes, the row of headers where the endstops connect is 3 pins wide. +, -, signal..
Jumpering the wrong way is bad :) (yea, I got careless and jumpered it so the switch shorted + to - once)

I cannot provide better pictures, but currently, i have the pins in this position:
    O
    O X O Y O Z O (S)
    O X O Y O Z O (-)
    O O O O O O O (+)

Currently, if i move the end stops, the printer has connection issues. And, the X and Y seem to work when i use the G28 command.
