    Hi guys

Last night i was printing a larg print on my robo r1+, it was an architectural model of a house... A full house with the inside walls and rooms but with out the roof so that i can see whats inside... The width and length of the house took almost 80% of the build area... The hight was 18 cm... My layer hight was 0.3 for all layers and i was printing abs at 235.... Tha major problem i had with this print is that 4 hours after printing i came to check it out and found that the extruder somehow moved 2 cm above the model and kept extruding.. Therefore the print went messy cuz the filament was coming out high... The extruder was supposed to move only 1 layer hight above the z axes instead it went up 2cm ! I emmedietly stopped the print.
Why did that happen ? What may cause the extruder to moved up like that suddenly for such long distance and mess up the print.

    Thanks

Double check the model through netfabb/azure to ensure there isnt aome crazyness going on

@Geof Is spot on. Either the model has a glitch or the slicer screwed up.

Personally i use the netfabb free addition but if you google azure model repair it should bring up a model repair online. If youd rather attach the file here

I would recommend trying a different slicer. Like said above upload the stl and I'd be happy to take a look at it

Hello. In regards to free slicers cura had a preset in the older version...i used cura for a bit and matter control for a very buggy 6 months or so lol. I have since used the paid slicer simplify 3d and use it exclusively. I believe @danzca6 could chime in on cura maybe. I think he still uses it :). Ill take a peak at your file and get back to you.

ok so I just tried to slice the model and as is it is showing a huge gap in the model. I'll upload a screen shot so you can see what I'm talking about (I'm using feature type so you can see the skirt, travel moves, etc)

scaled up to 300% of the import size it looks much better. Will run through netfabb on my end and report any errors. Odd model :D

ok so lots of issues with the model. My best guess is to go larger (I put it at 300%) and it looks like it may print. Others may know of a better program for repairs. Chances are the model will need to be redone to be able to print correctly. Or at least thats my 2 cents :D

I can repair it somewhat, but even after repairs it still shows errors so no guarantees.
