Greetings, Im back again. Just like the title says, my printbed wont heat. The sensor placed there seems to be ok cause it reads the temperature, what could be the problem?
    Thanks in advance

Hello! In my check list i look for

    1.bad connections/melted connector.

    2. Suspect ramps is failed (q3 mosfet)...cheap on amazon if you have an r1...if r1+ still cheap but has to be converted

    3. Wildly unlikely but possible a bad power supply (voltage check it)

Thanks. Where should I check the voltages and what values must have? i know that i have to remove the bottom cover of the printer and check there.

I would check on the powersupply otself. They will be labeled (if im recalling correctly)

    Found the next:
The first socket was exposed to a lot of heat, and guess it should show 12v but it doesnt.
The second socket looks alright and shows 12v.
I think all the heat in the first socket must damage that pin in the power supply pcb and thats why cant see the 12v.

Yes do not use that. You need a new powersupply.

I re-weld that specific pin and shows 12v.

    Probably OK.
This is almost certainly from the Q3 MOSFET on the RAMPS failing and drawing too much current.
It is what controls the heated bed so that is why the bed no longer heats for you.

Easiest fix is to swap the RAMPS board.

Is it necessary to change the whole board? Isnt possible to get and change only that MOSFET?
And why does this happened in first place?

It happens from time to time. More so on cheaper boards, replacements boards are darn near as cheap as the replacement parts +/-10 dollars US

Excellent, you can refer to that thread I linked on how to convert the wiring in the R1+ to use the generic RAMPS. It is not a big change.

Okay first post for me in the forum so I like to say hi and its great to see so much support for the Robo 3d.

Now on to my issue. I have lost the ability to heat up my bed now and this happened in the middle of a 4 hour print. The extruder heats up fine when given the command in MC but heat bed will not even start to heat. So I assume this is a mosfet issue and not a power supply since the extruder heats up fine. This is a refurb bought directly from Robo. So what are my options to fix this issue? Do I need to get a replacement part or can I somehow fix this issue with no parts? Thanks in advance for any help from the community.

You would need to investigate a bit, but most likely yes a mosfet failure is the most common. Do you have an R1 or R1+? I'm unsure if the refurbs have a warranty but I'd reach out to Robo as well just in case. If you remove the bottom cover from your printer you can inspect the connections for loose or broken ones, anything thats melty etc. Do you have a multimeter and can use it? If so there are voltage checks that can be done. What temperature does the bed show in matter control not heated?

Thank you kindly for the reply Geof. I have contacted Robo directly but with the holiday weekend I havent heard a response on my options. This is a R1 Plus. I have checked and tightened all connections and at one point the bed started heating up but now it wont heat at all. There doesn't seem to be any melted connections either. I wil take some pictures and post later today. I do have a multimeter so I can do some more investigation. What connections do I need to test for continuity/ohms?
