If you want a heated bed or need it with the filament you are using then sure, heat it up.
Yo do not need it warm/hot for the hairspray to work.

Just make sure the shield other components for overspray the best you can. I just use a piece of printer paper to keep the metal motion components getting sprayed. Don't need those sticking.

Alrighty thanks for the tip with the paper @danzca6 . Going to try a print within the new few minuets if I can locate some printer paper around the house.

haha...in this online age who prints things on paper anymore right? A piece of notebook paper or anything of that size will work just fine. I also fan the paper from the inside to the outside after the spray to try and direct the overspray out of the enclosure. Happy printing.

I just shake it up and spray one layer on cold then when it heats up I spray a very light layer just before it prints. Just don't do it near an open flame or smoke when you do this or you may go puff.
Everyone is going to have their own technique. Some use a paper shield so it doesn't get everywhere.

I have used hairspray at 50c, 40c and with no heat with equal results.
