Hey guys. Printing out a piece for this lantern I am making. It has two grooves (as seen in the pics) that are designed to slot in another piece. The problem is where that groove comes together, it looks like it didn't print all the way and I have gaps. Which setting in S3D should I be using to adjust for this? Truth in advertising - I did not run this through NETFABB either which I will also do next time.

I was thinking thin wall behavior, but also thought that adjusting extrusion width and or increasing number of perimeters might fix it. Thoughts? Thanks as always!

Yeah that looks like a model issue. Running it through Netfabb might help, but your mileage may vary.

If it is not a model issue then I would look at over extrusion.
    Calibrate the extruder

It doesn't look regular enough to be a slipping drive component.

How would overextrusion give me a hole? Wouldn't that be underextrusion? The model looks rough, but it is supposed to - it is an old time Halloween lantern so the surface is textured. I am primarily concerned about the holes in it.

With the new E3DV6 you installed, it might be good insurance to calibrate extrusion after you PID tune just to make sure everything is set right around what a new hotend could change on the printer.

Ah, well -- Under extruision would do that.

Well I went back and looked closely at the sliced model in S3D - definitely the model. Going to Netfabb it and see what I get. Thanks for all of the help everyone. You guys are awesome!
