Just started as I haven't run the machine in a week. My R1 plus bed will move forward manually or during autoleveling with MatterControl but not backwards. Any suggestions? Thanks

If Y only moves up then one of the two endstop switches is out of place or disconnected.

Using a terminal window in your slicer program, you can issue command M119 and see if Y is triggered or not. Pull your bed forward by hand and it shouldn't be triggered. Place it all the way back against the endstop and it should. If anything else, it could be a stuck y axis switch under the build plate or like @WheresWaldo said it could be a loose connection at the switch or the RAMPS board under the printer.
