This is one of those things that makes me wonder... Is it the device, the configuration or the user...

I print out a piece it comes out fine.. i hit reprint and comes our bad or not at all... I turn printer off, hit print works fine.

This is truly not an out of the box ready.. Are there any? I dont mind configuring it... but i shouldn't be spending more time configuring something that it actually working.

I am getting frustrated, because how can somethign work fine and then with the variable not changed...

    im printing .3mm height.

is 40mm too fast... am I just printing too fast? I am using matter control with the matter slicer.

I switched to cura and its about 30mm too high.

Jesus this sounds bitchy, but i dont have hours every day to tweak stuff.. this really is a pain...

How do i start from fresh and is there an ACTUAL guide... i own a business with services, and we litterally had to write a step by step guide because people didnt know what the left button or the right button on a mouse was... is there anythign transcribed for simpletons.... every site has every opinion...

what are the steps to proper calibration.

    level table, then table calibration
    filament feed speed/accuracy 100mm test

what else.... I want this to work.. When they come out great it awesome... am i expecting too much from this sorry about rant but idk... how can something work flawlessly and then fail... its silly..

First, the initial question. Are there any out of the box ready 3D printers?
    Not for under 2000 dollars.

Is 40mm too fast? Depends on your other settings. It could be if you are going for a finer layer resolution.

Is there an actual guide? Not really although they have a wiki started which could get there at some point. @Mike Kelly can give you the link.

If you did the filament feed test/calibration then likely the main issue is something wrong with the first layer (a touch too high or too low OR it is not sticking). @tesseract has an awesome first layer guide which @Printed Solid has hosted on his web site.

    http://www.printedsolid.com/firstlayer/

The good news (there is some, really!) is that once you get it sorted out it stays that way unless you change something mechanically.

Something I did find when I upgraded my beta to the new bed (w/linear rods and bearings) is that it can be slightly unlevel across the surface (as much as 0.1 mm from end-to-end) so if you are doing big prints you need to test and shim it to get it really close to level all the way around.

Also, what type of filament are you using (ABS, PLA, ???) that can make a big difference.
I would strongly suggest staying with PLA until you have the basics mastered.

I got both... are you using matter control? I just switched the sliver from the matter to curaengine....

Im going to export my settings.. from matter control and upload them... let me know.. maybe you can export your setting and I can do a run with it.... im game for it...

No, I do not care for it. I have not tried the latest versions so it may be better than I remember.
I use Simplify3D 99% of the time and Repetier host the other 1%. There are occasional models that are (for one reason or another) not happy with a given slicer and when Simplify falls down Repetier often works.

Attached is the exported process settings I normally use for PLA. You will have to convert this into something MatterControl can use. Note that the nozzle diameter in these is not 0.4 -- adjust accordingly.

40 is fine for that layer size. I use 50 mm/s at 0.2 (with a 0.5 nozzle) just bear in mind if you start dropping the layer size you will need to slow down. I have done test prints as low as 0.05, but you have to be crawling (and use a smaller nozzle).

Ill just get simplify3d and repetier... is the hex head fine or should i got to the e3dv4 or e3dv6?

    is there like a ever -/+ .1m layer height is 10mm/s ?

I started with .1 but am happy with .3 WHEN it prints right...

    I couldnt upload my slice.....

could admins lift that right for users?.... i mean its their software.. it might help with swapping config slices....

I suspect your first layer is still not perfect. Print something like these attached test prints (they are only a couple of layers tall).
You need to look at the page @tesseract authored (hosted on @Printed Solid website) linked earlier and do the tests until you consistently have a correct first layer across the bed.

The circleBedlevel is my go-to test (I size it to fit the bed) and if I get that right across the bed then I am good. If you have an R1 that may mean having to adjust the Z offset # until you get it dialed in. I do not have an R1--I have the Beta--so mine is done manually, but once set correctly it is not something I tweak.

Attached is a screenshot of the machine settings. Attached is an export of the PLA settings.
I don't have a way to export machine settings...

The latest version of Simplify is: 2.1.2 and it has a Robo3d definition (or support could shoot you one)

I don't understand the question. What dialog are you trying to configure this in? Perhaps a screenshot?

But not in Simplify3D (which is were the settings came from and what I thought you said you were using).
With it you do not have a choice of slicers, it only uses their own.

Good idea. I can't really help you with MatterControl, I never use it.
I used Repetier host for a long time and still occasionally fire it up, but never MatterControl.
