There are issues with Heat Creep on some hot ends.

That is where the heat from the heat block creeps up the hot end during long prints. This causes the filament in the cold block to become soft and then proceeds to jam the hot end.

Cooling fans on the cold block and wrapping the heat block are ways to help prevent it.

I had to increase the hotend temp when i tried printing 50micron layers as it was plugging on me. ended up printing at 205-210 for pla with the 0.25mm e3D nozzle.
Low layer heights means more pressure and time in the nozzle i guess? Either way the jamming stopped.
Plenty of other problems still though ;).

Lower layer heights do indeed mean more pressure and time in the nozzle. That's why wood filaments really have a rough time with low layer heights.
