Hey friends, other departments at my company have decoded to take advantage of my 3d printer not just for visual representation but for functional rapid prototyping. That being said I'd like some critique of my recent prototype. I'd like to increase my quality and keep it consistent.

    I love this forum

That seems like a pretty successful print, is it PLA with a low temperature like 190?

Did you miss the "free test" spam link?

I'll repost it for you ;)
That is why the question is there, it is probably a robo-post (NO that doesn't mean it qualifies)

That's awesome. Spam bot decides to pick on my materials in their SPAM post! grrr.
Good thing it was on collin's thread!

Your print looks pretty good to me. I'm guessing you're going to need to go to a lower layer height and more shells to get rid of the pinholes on that slope.

Ya im getting that 100 micron layer height. makes me nervous. this was my longest print to date im we are making small changes to the model then ill print it in .1mm. its going to take upwards of 20 hours. so much that can go wrong

Another option is to use a larger nozzle. .2 with a 0.8 nozzle is going to give you pretty much the same overhang capabilities as 0.1 with a 0.4. You definitely don't need the resolution on that print and it will also make your part stronger.

I hate taking apart the hot end. but that is a tempting proposition.
my Boss bought more filament for me this afternoon lol so i didnt have to right a check request. i think he got 2 rolls of blue. they are really starting to love my printer.

You don't have to take apart the hot end to change the nozzle. I change mine all the time. Heat up, unthread old nozzle, thread in new one, print.

No blue filament order today. My site's been running not so well lately, so if he tried to place an order today, he probably got stuck. Have him message me directly and I can close it.
