$50.00 a kilo seem on the expensive side though. I just can't see paying this much for filament until everyone of my prints comes out perfect and I have a long way to go yet LOL

That would be excellent! I have two major projects on hold, at least one of which will be somewhat interesting for the folks around here (I think) and would like to get them somewhat under way, i.e., learning how the printer works (or not).

Thanks for the offer, Tesseract. I will likely take you up on it at some point. I am still finalizing designs as my test mule development continues. I have most of it figured out, but hard points, dimensions, fastener sizes... there is yet a lot to be determined. I think it will be a winter-long project before (hint) I can take it out on the road, but it is pretty exciting. How does one PM?

PM (Private Message) is analogous to the start a conversation which are for the most part private here or you can also get a hold of me on SKYPE which you can put on your computer or smartphone for free and then have live chat conversation if you do that look for Jeff Janes or jj.tesseract

$50 a kilo isn't insanely high for high quality filament... this stuff is actually $50 for 0.5 kg though : )

Still, it takes some effort and investment to get a new process launched so even it's not unreasonable. I imagine once they build up a market, they can bring the price down. The laywoo stuff is quite expensive as well.

if you want expensive, start looking at materials for resin printers!

I've found it sold for 35 GBP at imakr.com

Have no idea if it's worth it though...

With all these new formulations coming out I have a feeling it's going to be one comes out it's real inexpensive pretty quickly so I'm probably just going to hold off but you never know
