I want to make a wire guide for the heated bed... and if I can do it from STL or something, that'll make it easier than trial and error....

Sure I do, whats your preferred file format? I currently have it as a solidworks file.

Mike, I'd love to have a copy of your solidworks file and whatever other printer parts you have in solidworks.

I haven't entirely decided which, if any, of my parts I want to release. Do you have a specific request?

Unfortunately I'm running an ancient version of solidworks, so could I get it in STL or something?
I'm really looking for the bolt holes for the right hand tower.

do you mean the boro silicate glass plate or the center plate that holds the motors? I'm confused by "I'm really looking for the bolt holes for the right hand tower."

I'd like to have both --
I'd like to have the big black rectangle that holds the motors and Z shafts for the wiring guard.
And I've measured my boro plate, but it was done with a tape measure (for a different project) -- I want to pick up the existing holes on the heated bed.

has anyone found the boro plate to be not flat ie wavy. with my dial indicator going from side to side I an getting .005" wave in the glass. I am not sure actually if it is the plate or the rods, although I would be surprised if the rods are not straight.

Put a metal straight edge across it... Because .005 will be easy to see.

I checked mine, it was .005" or worse. Use a straight edge, its easier to see. Tighten belt and it gets better.

    Hi Mike,
Could I please have an igs or stp file of the base (center) plate that holds the motors and Z rods, i want to machine a wider one from 15mm Acetal for a custom y axis setup and it would be pretty helpful not to have to remeasure and add my shoddy tolerances to it.
    Thanks!
