Banding in z axis

    So are there answers to why there is banding in the z axis that follows geometry?[​IMG]

    Acceleration too fast, or maybe stepper driver needs tuning.

    Look for the following lines:

    #define DEFAULT_ACCELERATION
    #define DEFAULT_RETRACT_ACCELERATION
    #define DEFAULT_TRAVEL_ACCELERATION
    Robo left all these settings at their Marlin Firmware defaults. In an ideal world we could accelerate our printers that fast, but in the real world I have found these values to be more realistic. Please note this is only my setup, you may need to play with these values a bit to get optimal printing speed vs. detail retention.

    #define DEFAULT_RETRACT_ACCELERATION  3000

    I would prefer detail to take priority. Especially if I am going to have a 12+hour print.

    The default retract acceleration is the z axis lifting I assume?

    How fast it pulls filament from the hotend, not significant in any way as far as acceleration is concerned.
