I unboxed set up and tried to print with my brand new Robo3d r1 printer today (my birthday present)

the first print printed one level high then the hot end did not extrude anything more out but I wasn't sure so I let it run but then realized it was not doing anything. I double checked everything and tried it again this time only strings of filament came out and it went through the movement with no print.

I have no clue what to do from here to trouble shoot this issue.

    Update:

I unscrewed the two back screws with the springs and flipped down that area and cleaned there that didnt do anything much.

so I unscrewed the side screws but on my model they where 2 Allen key ones instead and removed the hot end and I can now see it is super dooper filled with the blue test filament.

Next I assume I will heat it up and pull it out. I will update if success

    Season it.
You can run for while before it needs reseasoning (an oiler just makes that moot).
You can probably print the oiler (and other things) just by doing the seasoning.

    1 out of 16

1st print full first layer clog
    2nd 1/2 a laer clog
    3rd nothing
    4th string size
    5th 3/4 layer
    6th full test cube
7-16 nothing more then the guide dots follow by a hair thin strand then clog

after every try I took apart and cleaned thoroughly

Mind you even the first print I oiled the first 6 inches of the pla with paper towel

tried 16 more times gets clogged almost every time however I did have one successful print of the test square.

6 prints with string of hair sized making it through but after first outer passed its clogged.

I took it apart and cleaned it so many times the screw is now stripped from the Allen key

I have a call with support today at 2pm hopefully we will figure it out

Is the fan on the hotend itself running full speed? You will clog it is not.
You need to not be too low either as @jbigler1986 mentions. That will cause a clog.

thanks again will try with these adjustments

Something has always looked weird about the front fan does not seam to be running full speed. and sometimes does not even appear on does it spin only sometimes or it is supposed to be spinning.

I will try higher off set also I never adjusted anything from the settings on the test stl models in

The parts fan will NOT always be running any way. Software controls this.
    The hotend fan WILL.

I see that now the fan works fine and is software controlled

I raised up the z axis and so far it printed full layer so far with no clog

Now I just wait and see if it can complete a simple test print of a whistle stl the came with it

before I start any custom multiple part stuff

Ya, I've had this problem too, sometimes you can't tell if it's too low and nothing comes out.
