cura not loading?

I just upgraded my PC and trying to open cura. for some reason it installs with no problem but then when i try to open it i just get that small cura loading box and then nothing. just disappears. no error messages, ive even checked my task manager to see what's going on and also just disappears.
I've been hearing things about prusa slicer and was thinking about giving it a shot since i was able to install it on my pc and have it load with no issues.
Is there a tutorial out there on how to get my my R2 using prusa slicer?
should i just try to use a newer version of Cura?
