I got tired us using a plastic lid with a hole punched in it, for the endcap for the spoolholder that came with our R3D's... so threw one together quickly in solidworks and just printed it. Works a peach.

Just in case anyone else is interested. yeah, it's not a tricky part... but one that I felt would work out better than the hacked bit I made first off.

It's got a beveled inset for the 1/4x20 screw head.

I found it impossible for me to print prior to getting my bed level. I'm going to try printing some other larger prints that kept failing previously... so my printing this piece was really a joyous thing for me. LOL

Yup yup! :) That and backing off yet ANOTHER tooth on the Y belt. It's now MUCH easier to shift on that axis if the print warps up or I get buildup from poor print quality... If the hotend hits the print especially during a rapid movement... shift. Spoil. Teeth gnashing. Tears.

I am actually thinking af adjust ing my retract settings a bit instead of the length and lift to be 0 and .2 I may chnge mine to .2 and .2 since 0 actually turns it off I want to try the .2

Not a bad idea! I will have to experiment with that tomorrow as well. There have been a few instances so far where I had a problem that would have most certainly been avoided from better optimization there. Not all, especially the warp problem I had with one part in particular, but enough to seriously give that idea some serious thought. Hrmmmm!
