    Hey all,

Just a simple question. Which way should the extruder fan be facing?

Should it be sucking out the hot air or blowing on it?

Blowing air in. Fan's don't work that great when you limit the inlet:

    Awesome. Thanks for the reply!

I have another question but I guess that's in another thread. I just installed my E3d V6 extruder but the first layer is printing too high even though I calibrated it.

I'll look around the forums and see what I can come up with!

    :)

Mikes I believe there a specific way the connectors for the extruder fan have to be attached to the Ramps card.. I remember reading about the Black cable has to be on the top or facing some way, but can't find where I saw this on the forum. Does this have to do with which way the fan will blow??

DC brushless fans only work 1 direction. Having the polarity wrong will just stop it from working at all. Once you reverse the polarity it will start up again:
