OK well I recent got a new robo3d r1 with autoleveling last week every thing work but I have run into an issue...

The hot end heat up but not like its supposed to. Basically when i ran it in repeiter hot I would set my target temp (like say 210) and let it run, the extruder would heat up for a few second then turn off and i would get an "echo:heating failed" so I would turn it back on and the same thing would happen run for a few second then turn off. I noticed that if I step up the target temperature to about 10 degree from the actual temperature I could eventually reach my target temperature. SO far this is really a nnoying as I can't always sit at my desk an watch the robo heat up...

    any help would be appreciated...

Hmm can you take a screenshot of the terminal log? I wonder if it's a thermistor error.

Can you download matter control and try from there?

I think it's a firmware problem or a start g code. What's your start g code look like? Can you please do a firmware update and software update? You have selected R1 as your printer model correct?

Yes I have updated both the firmware and matter control, this happens on two different computers. And both in the matter control and in Repieter host. I don't know if its a g-code issue as I am not even running a print when it happens had figured it was a firmware issue but not sure where to look.
    G-code start:
    G28 ; home all axes
    G1 Z5 F5000 ; lift nozzle
M109 S[temperature] ; set the extruder temp and wait
    M565 Z-.8 ; Set the probe offset
    G29 ; probe bed

It might be an issue with the system putting your USB ports to sleep. Have you verified that isn't occuring?

Also you don't want to use Z-probe offset. That's how far the probe is from the nozzle. When your nozzles the probe your offset is 0.

What you want is to define a new Z0

Could be the signs of a failed mosfet, any time you remember shocking anything?

Something odd I have noticed is that from a cold start it actually heats up without this issue. Very perplexing...

Hi guys, there is a new update for the firmware coming. Please be sure to update your firmware when a new update comes out.

Can do, also a question I have been meaning to ask...

Is there some way to pull the current firmware of the printer itself or do I have to find an outside source? I just installed an E3D and I was looking at changing the thermistor.
