just got my printer today 12/20/2016 , i have tried almost everything i can find but nothing seems to work.
the bed heats fine and the extruder heats fine , but the temp will not read on the Software for the extruder.
there for the print will not start and it sits in a heat up loop waiting for the extruder to pre heat. if any one has any advice , i could really use the healp , im new to 3D printing >.>.:(

hi there. If your reading zero on the software, then the thermistor is not hooked up (or a very very loose connection). Showing very high temperature while cold is a shorter thermistor, showing 0 (ever) is open (either the black JST connector is unhooked, or maybe from the ramps, or you have a break somewhere between the ramps (control board) and the thermistor itself).

If the thermister is connected it will at least show room temperature.
    Zero means it's not working.
