I assume I am doing something wrong. Would love any input, suggestions or feedback.

Using Robo3d R1 with the blue test pla, glue stick on bed, 210 C hotend and 50 C Bed, Pla has been oiled to prevent the sticking

I originally had a problem with the hot-end getting clogged I am happy to say that problem was fixed that by oiling but everything is still not figured out yet. I did managed to get a few good prints but most have similar issues. I am also going to switch to hatchbox pla for the new prints just incase.

From reading posts I assume some thing is wrong with the height of the hot-end from the bed.

    Common Issues:

After the first layer the things start to fail.

    Good test prints so far:

Notice that your first layer height is .3mm and your subsequent layers are .1mm?

I've also never checked "Avoid Crossing Perimeter".

Also, 2" wide Blue Painter's (or Kapton if you're printing ABS) Tape is your friend for any print where you don't care about the bottom of your printed object being glass-smooth.

Massive update - Spaghetti Western Style

    The Good
I switched to Hatchbox PLA and it printed fine not a single clog nice flow for 2 small sized models

    The Bad
Then on the 3rd model the top piece of plastic part of the machine flew whizzing by my head. Looks like the top piece was very thin and fragile.

    PART FLEW OFF MACHINE

    The Ugly
Also my hot-end has the two screws that go into it on each side none of the ones here look to have that? Might of been the because?

The part you push down with finger with the spring screws it just flew off mid print the sides where it broke appeared to bevery weak and thin plastic/

Example of the part that flew off

This is the part the came off you can see the thin side and where it broke

This is how the Hot-End looks

You can see the two screw marks on the side this is what holds it in? looks abnormal? ( I need a better phot)

Good Print no clog or issues

I think I will have to contact support or request new part or something..

The gouging of the top of the hot end is normal and by design.

That part that broke is called a greg's wade hinge. In conjunction with the screws with springs and a bearing it pushes the filament up against the hobbed bolt. The hobbed bolt has little teeth that dig into the filament and push it down into the hot end. People have successfully used fender washer in its place or crazy glued it back together so they can print a replacement.

Some of those settings are a little odd, but
Now you are starting to learn 3D printing :)
