An inch of broken filament was sticking out the top of the extruder and the print was incomplete.
It was stuck so firmly that I had to replace the hex.
The blue Robo filament shipped with this new printer seems to be the culprit.

The blue Robo filament - straight out of the sealed bag - snapped while I was trying to straighten it.
An older reel of Hatchbox left over from my old printer was so flexible that I could not break it.
The partially-used Hatchbox reel had been sitting out for over a month.

Anyone had a broken filament problem?
Is the Robo filament defective, or did I just get a bad batch?

    It is "wet" ...
which is to say it has absorbed water from the air and gotten brittle.

    Use different filament.

There are numerous ways you can try to recover "wet" filament, but my suggestion is to toss it and get new

If you bought it and paid for it then go back to the seller for a refund. If it was the sample filament they provided with the printer -- that stuff was wet and garbage :)

This is the filament that Robo shipped with the new printer. It has the Robo name on it.
I removed the filament from its sealed desiccant bag just 15 minutes before it snapped.
Not a good first impression. It caused immediate and serious problems.
All is fine with my "leftover" filament from the old printer. I'll toss the blue stuff.

    Thanks for the feedback.
