    Hello,

For some reason when the printer starts printing the first layer of any model it will move the extruder up about 2mm off the bed and print in the air. Details:
    1. This is my first print on a new Robo 3D.
    2. I'm using MatterControl 1.2.1 on Mac OS 10.9.5
    3. I've configured the auto print leveling.
    4. Before it prints, it homes and goes through the level check successfully.
    5. I've tried several STL's with the same behavior.
    6. I'm printing in ABS, medium settings.
I suspect MatterControl has a bad setting, but I couldn't find it (I'm more experienced with RH and Slic3r). Does anyone have any idea what is the problem? Appreciate the help.

    Jeff

    Disable automatic priner leveling.

If you're too low use the m565 command for adding an offset.

I just switched to Cura and I have to say with a few pointers it feels like I have so much better control of the printer I highly recommend reading this thread. Matter Control seemed easy to me at first but it ends up just tying your hands a little when it comes to getting repeatable good settings.
