    Hi everyone,

I was wondering if anyone printed with Glow in the dark filament ?
i believe its more expensive than normal filament, i wanted to find a ABS pellets from China and make my own with the Filastruder while i wait for the Printer

not sure if the heat will break the glow properties or not

    any suppliers in mind ?

    hi

instead of kust believe you could look it up...
my supplier (europe) has one for about 180% the price of normal PLA.

the glow things should not be destroyed becauce they need to be molten anyway... (the pellets, and for the filament)
but maybe it's better not to heat it up for hours...

don't know where to get pellets so...

I've seen it priced pretty much the same as normal filament. I'm a big fan of the Afinia value line glow in the dark green.
as far as material, i've read that glowinc.com is a good option. I've considered trying it out with my sparklepolishing process :)

I'm an old customer and one of the first registered people with Glow inc.
i tried asking Danny, but i couldn't get a reply yet. either he's looking into it or hasn't seen the message yet for some reason
it's not like him to leave you hanging.
gonna give it some time while i check out Chinese suppliers
i afraid to end up with a product that glows for a few seconds and blacks out

I got my supply from Robo themselves and I did several things in the glow-in-the-dark material including a Yoda head and it stays going for quite a while

Have you tried the Ultra Green v10 ?
i wanted glow inc to make pellets using this stuff, glows like crazy compared to anything out there
and it's color is off white which i prefer to green :)

looks good, but i think you should compare it to the v10 Ultra green from Glow inc
Pellets are a lot cheaper than filament. that's why i got the Filastruder
i have to make some use of it, whats the point of having it and buying filament ? :)

the pellets are made by mixing glow powder and plastic, its a complex procedure to get homogenous glow and not end up with plastic parts that don't glow

that's why i wanted glow inc to do it and not me attempt to

Last Halloween, we contacted 3D2PRINT for spools of Glow in Dark Filament to be used in our spooky products. ABS Glow in Dark Filament Green 1.75mm is what I've got. It looks pretty cool but the price isn't that bad. Please note that ABS will bend under too much heat, so after the first few layers, it’s best to turn down your 3D printer bed temperature.

I'm currently printing glow in the dark PLA filament from our own stock supply, I work at a printer and ink specialized web store, and it works great, its quite solid and melts at very very good temperatures.

I'll get you a picture with it glowing in the dark.

    As promised, the glow pictures!

    WP_20140214_008.jpg WP_20140214_009.jpg

This die is printed with our home-brand filament, we're a printer webshop based in the netherlands, and I had to test the filament out. It was printed with a first layer of 200 degrees celcius, and the second layer at 193 degrees celcius.

I am convinced that everything is better in glow-in-the-dark!

I ordered it but they ran out. Looks really good. Nice and bright.

Are all glow in the dark filaments this bright?

Ours is, it does brighten up a lot when taking a picture, my phone uses a light to focus before snapping the shot, so the glow particles get... supercharged with that burst of light, and thats captured on my phone. However, it isn't just a faint glow thats difficult to see, when in the dark, the object really shines out, it works reaallly well!
