Goopy prints

I've been trying to get a decent print out of the R1 but it seems to lay random threads of plastic all over the place. While printing I even notice little blobs here and there which the head has to push out of the way. Attached is what it looks like. What's the issue?

 

Looks mostly like stringing to me which is a function of temperature.

Unless your nozzle is leaking filament out the top.

 

Ok thanks. Will try adjusting that. For PLA is 185 the ideal temp?

 

Depends a lot on the maker and colorant. Not every PLA is the same and some behave better than others at different temperatures.

Typically black PLA you want to do around 200-210.
