Heated bed not keeping it cool

    My heated bed isn't holding a temp. It just tries to get hotter whether it is or isn't connected to software.
    I checked the wires today and found the cable end that connects to the bed is slightly charred. Photo included.
    Am I going to need a new cable or can I fix it myself?

    Also the clip on the glass is slightly charred as well. Photo attached

    Unplugged and awaiting tech support to give me details on returning bed for fix and wire harness.
