    I did not have to tweak or change my firmware at all to start using that LCD (but I have a Beta, not the R1)

    oki but with the laste firm and just connect the lcd i have nothing ?

    Make sure the cables are not flipped or backwards. They are not keyed so you could put them on wrong

    Won't hurt the reflash with the latest firmware.

    Make sure configuration.h has these set (first one un-commented, the second one commented out):

    No, that looks like my discount controller :)

    Hard to say for certain from the picture, but you get he idea. If this is the discount controller make sure the first line is uncommented and the second one commented. If this is the full graphic display then go the other way (as @jbigler1986 pointed out)

    Yeah that looks identical to mine. Try one and if it doesn't work then try the other.

    One thing that occurs to me, since it didn't "just work" that might indicate it is the full graphic version ;)
