Well, It finally happened to me! It was extruding micro bubbles and almost invisible thread of filament.
Well, I uncoupled the two electrical connectors and removed the two retaining screws AFTER laying a Mother Earth Mag on the glass.
The brass hex head was solid state. I canned it. The finned cooling tower was clogged to 3/4 of the way up.
I flamed it out with a torch. Upon inspection, I noticed the top of the heat break inner filament guide hole had a ridge, that is it didn't line up exactly with the tower hole. I got the closest I have to a 1.7 drill (5/64") and reamed it out. it is now smooth as silk. I also oiled the whole path. Back in business.

The odd part was that the residue in the clog was black. I had just finished a WHITE Chinese sea dragon, a 3 hour print. I thought it would also look good in transparent red. That's when it clogged. Right at startup.
Both white and transparent red are ABS.
I am thinking about changing the tower fan to a 3".
The unit is an all metal Hex with about 2 reels of filament on it. Frank/.

Black usually means the ABS got cooked and crystalized
