Solved Hot end clogging

    My printer will be printing fine then stop extruding, clogged up. Temp is holding at the temp set but the cool area of the hot end is getting too hot and filament appears to be melting where it shouldn't. Not sure what to do about this. See attached photo... DSC01040.jpg

    Start by trying seasoning or an oiler. If that doesn't help or solve it then the hotned is falling victim to heat creep.
    The solution to that is a working fan on the hotend cooling fins. I know you said yours is working.. but you need to make sure it is pulling air across the fins. Last possible suspect is a bad heat break (or the heat break not positioned correctly). That is hard to get wrong on most hotends, but sanity check that it is positioned to provide the gap (the break) needed to keep the heat from creeping up the fins.

    My main suspect would be the cooling fan for the extruder.
