So this is odd. The printer was working. I was doing a print this morning. But I had just did a filament change since this spool is nearly out. Went to home the Axis. X homed; Y homed; But Z isn't homing. There's no motor movement.

I turned everything off and checked connections underneath. All looks good and nothing is loose. I'm looking for my multimeter now and I'll check connections once I find it. But neither side's Z axis is moving. When I do click on Z home on Repetier, it shows 1 commands waiting... And it goes away once I manually depress the Z axis home switch on the printer.

I also thought that maybe something was binding. I've pulled up on the X assembly so the Z nuts are out of their holes. Still no movement. I'm able to twist the threaded rods by hand.

try unplugging your usb and turn off the printer power then restart your computer. Maybe that will fix it

So since the schematic showed that a single motor controller controlled both the Z axis motors and the fact that neither motor was working at all, I thought it may be the motor controller. I replaced the Z axis one with a motor controller from the old RAMPS board and lo and behold, the printer is working again!

YAY! I'm back in business. Don't know why it failed. Odd.

Melody just make sure the voltage is set correctly on that new controller you can do a simple check to see if you are close just by checking the motor temps by touching them if they are hot I woulds shut down until you can verify the settings. They can be warm but never really hot.

Good idea. It's printing now but once it's done I can check how hot it is.
