Is ABS give off "toxic" fumes?

    I am wondering if ABS gives off toxic/hazardous fumes or if it just smells bad.

    Does anyone know the facts about printing with ABS? I know it gets a bad rep but I think I remember reading that it gives off fumes when it reaches a certain temp.... Anybody know what is face and fiction about printing with ABS?

    hmm i print in my office in my house, i dont notice any smells..

    and i'm still alive..

    It takes smokers years to get cancer... If ABS is toxic it's going to affect your health slowly over time....

    Well from what I have heard and read it has the potential to smell but there was nothing that I have found that says it is toxic. Being that that factor is quite important and the 3dprinting world is using ABS quite frequently without any kind of a MIND NUMBING EYE BLASTING alerts posted about the danger it entails, leads me to believe it is not toxic. That being said though I am sure Asbestos was once considered safe to use as well. If I do see something though I will give you and everyone here a shout
