I hope my problem can be resolved easily as I just hit my six months of warranty coverage.

I just installed a new extruder this week. It was printing fine and I took off the oiler to facilitate a tall print.

That print finished fine but starting a new print the PLA filament stopped coming out at a good stream

I can manually push PLA a heated hotend fine. Its a good stream that does not curve back up which I understand would warrant a clog. But when I press the E+ nothing come out even with the stepper motor doing it thing. There are no cutting into the filament. What would stepper motor problems look like?

I take the stepper motor off and try to use the control panel to move It when I think I have a stepper problem. If it turns like it should your bound up probably due to a partial jam

I'd check for a jam before anything else
