Just received printer and thought I was making progress. For some reason my extruder won't heat up at times. A couple of times I had to disconnect power plug leading to the extruder to get it to reset. Now I have a weird issue. I connect to the printer with Repetier-Host. click the heat extruder button and nothing happens. Doesn't heat up. The heat printbed button is not activated, yet the software says the bed is 70 degrees. But the bed is actually ice cold.

The room temperature is about 64 degrees. I also have the unit plugged into an APC SmartUPS 1440 battery backup unit.

Sounds like you have a loose connection on your extruder. Check on your ramps board and make sure everything is well connected.

Checked all the plugs. Everything looks nice and snug.
