The cool blue lighting that comes with the Robo3D looks great but is really cosmetic. I installed these two 9 LED 6" strips up in the top of the case and wired it to the 12V power source. Wow, nice-n-bright, this really lights-up the work area without affecting the aesthetic blue glow from below.

The strips may be found here https://www.commonsenserc.com/product_info.php?cPath=147_192&products_id=2306

Hmm, didn't know Robo3D was coming with any lighting... Mine wasn't.

Yeah, that got me by surprise too, ripped open the big box, powered-up and there was this really cool, blue glow, just like the demo video :)
They put a 3-LED strip on either side forward of the bed.

Funny how the older versions are more desirable layer on. I have the stock version and it's working great.

Still would be nice to find a lighting system that points light directly into the print at all times without the extruder getting in the way and producing shadows. Sort of like you get in surgery.

The only way to do that is to put the LEDs directly around the extruder head.

I found this picture and thought this way great. Anyone know who it is?
