Trying to resolve recent print problems, when manually extruding filament, it comes out as a "loop" rather than a straight extrusion.

Nozzle partially clogged? Damages? It is a hardened steel nozzle with little use.

Edit: I guess I have to go with partially clogged as, when trying different temperatures after cleaning the "nose", the first attempt at extruding 5mm, nothing comes out. And just noticed, sitting idle, a long extrusion appears, with no further commands given.

Cleaning the exterior of the nozzle with a soft brass bristle brush seems to have resolved this.

Too hot can also make this happen. Certainly the curl-back is driven by heat.
