Has anyone encountered this? The spring on the feeder are mismatched. One is about twice the force of the other. not sure which one is correct. This may be the reason I've getting the feed stopping part way through a build. The hot end doesn't seem to be clogged because after I clear the jam at the hob bolt it starts fine again. But each time I'm loosing the current build.

    PLA or ABS?
The springs don't make that much of a difference, but if it is PLA you should consider seasoning the hotend or just adding an oiler. I have had zero jams since adding one myself. My symptoms? The filament would stop feeding and the hobbed bolt would eat a chunk out of it trying to feed it.

Seasoning the hotend? What does that mean? So far I've only ran PLA does ABS not have this issue?

Is a sewing machine or 3/1 oil acceptable? to use for a oiler? Oiler seems to be the easiest fix.

    Thanks for the info Mark.

    No, vegatable oil (Canola preferred).
You need that (not machine oil or mineral oil).

Plus then your printer smells faintly of french fries when printing. :)

Yeah I posted on this a month or so ago, one of my springs is larger gauge and much harder to compress than the other, they are visibly different, however my printer feeds just fine.

My springs don't match either. So is that the way they all are?

Grapeseed oil also works well. They are both high temp oils. I couldn't smell anything from the grapeseed oil though.

lol, yeah my springs don't match either; one of them is so tight it's very difficult to get on and off. Thankfully I haven't had to do that in some time :)
