Has anyone seen that Makerbot released two 'new' filaments this week?

One is HIPS, which has been available from other suppliers for a while. I believe that someone (Spyker maybe?) actually mentioned it on this forum a while back. It can be used in dual extrusion as a support for ABS. It can then be dissolved in d-limonene. Here is a blog post on it: http://toybuilderlabs.com/blog/2013/9/15/melt-hips-shape-abs

The other is referred to as 'flexibile filament'. It has an extremely low melting temp (60C). I (and others) believe that it is probably polycaprolactone (also known as polymorph and others. Toybuilders labs sells it in pellet form). It's neat stuff, but I'm a little baffled by why anyone would want to use it for 3D printing. It is also $150/kg, so it's expensive AND of limited use. The reprap wiki describes a method for extruding your own http://reprap.org/wiki/Polycaprolactone but doesn't talk about what you might actually want to do with it.

I could see lots of uses for flexible filament, but at that price, you are better off 3d printing a mold and casting in silicone.
