I am a brand new Robo 3D printer owner. I cannot seem to get a completed first print regardless of quality settings.

Robo 3D R1 with Solid bottom, metal extruder and sd card slot on the printer.
Using the packed in Robo 3D blue filament.
Using Matter Control. No changes to settings.

Prints start out rough - lots of dots around first outlines, see pic.

Prints typically get about half way through before they really go downhill. Sometimes they get so junked up they print head ends up pulling it all over with it. See results in pic.

Any suggestions on where to start?

You're too high. Disable Automatic Print leveling and try again

Should I recalibrate and then verify it is set to disabled?

If I should recalibrate, for the final part of each of the three steps. When it says feel resistance then go down one step further, should I still be able to move the paper?

Don't do the calibration at all. In fact delete your profile and make a new one. It shouldn't ask for any calibration.

They really need to remove that from the video after MatterHackers decided to stop using the method, but it apparently costs them a lot of money to edit that and they don't have much solvent cash.
