Unresolved print head is too far from bed

Newbie question: I printed out a couple items over the past few days and now the print head will not come close to the bed and all the prints are just tangled filament. I have tried bringing the head down through Matter Control and manually but when I go to print it just raises up and starts printing.

Any ideas.

everything is seated correctly. still sitting about 10 MM above bed when printing.

 

Do a paper leveling of the Z axis then send M119 in terminal
