I start up repetier host with my printer on and plugged into my computer like I've always done and connect it. No problem. As soon as I hit the home all button though, nothing happens exept repetier saying that it's homed. All of the controls act like its funtioning but nothing happens it doesn't even heat up. My E3D fan is running on start up like it has before so the printer is powered and on. It's been working fine up until the last few days where it would freeze durning or right after a print and be unable to work. Please any help would be appreciated.

Suggest you turn on the logging in Repetier Host. Then try to connect and set home.

Posting the log file here should give the experts a clue as to what's not working.

Is this what you mean by the log file? This is all it says even after I hit the home button. Nothing still happens.

    Yes. That's the log file.

Strange - there are no M105 messages

Do your printer settings in Repetier Host look like this?

Yeah settings are the same as yours and I'm running Repetier Host V0.95F, but I've also set up and tried cura but still nothing. I think it has to do with the wiring or board on the printer. Any idea to what would cause the whole printer to not respond to commands?

12v power not working would cause the whole printer to not respond. But your E3d fan is working - right?

Could be just the 12v power connection to the Ramps board. Some Robo users have had meltdowns on the Ramps 12v plugs.

Restart your computer while the printer is on and plugged in. Try after reboot.

So I fipped over the printer t0 take a look and after I took it apart alittle it lloked like this http://imgur.com/JatuZBe , in the hole for securing the positive wire there's this black gunk there now. Does this mean I have to get a new ramps board? What happened and what should I do?

Photo shows the kind of meltdown others have seen. This happens because the screw wire connection (which is just loose wire) becomes a little too high resistance and heats up melting the plastic.

(For anyone else reading this - one way to prevent this problem happening is to remove and tin/solder each of the power wires, then screw them back in tightly.)

It looks from the photo that your Ramps board connection may not be damaged (hopefully). Try removing the 12v plug and check it out.

You can buy the 12v plugs from specialist electronics suppliers. On the Ramps Wiki site http://reprap.org/wiki/RAMPS_1.4 there is a list of components. The plug and socket is labelled X1. Plug is part WM7953-ND. Digi-key have this for < $US4.00 plus postage.

If you live outside the US, probably the easiest (and cheapest solution) is to buy a new Ramps board (even if you only need the plug). There are plenty on eBay at less than $US15.00 delivered.

Problem is easily fixed - just a PITA.

They'll send you a replacement part since it's a defective part. No need to fix it yourself.

Now that is exactly what should happen in a situation like this.
