I've been working on adjusting the extruder height and leveling the bed and while it's not printing properly yet I have been able to Home the extruder and move it around to measure as well as print some squiggled ABS blobs.

But now nothing happens when I enter commands; the extruder won't Home or move, the bed won't heat etc. Repetier says it is connected (although it goes green even when the printer is turned off, so not sure how helpful that is). I've checked all the connections, turns thing on and off, rebooted the computer. It just says Command Waiting. Baud rate is correct.

I've seen posts of others with this problem, but no solutions that have worked.

As an aside would be nice if the printer had an 'on' light so you knew it was getting power.

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks.

i'd replace the USB cable, or atleast check if it makes and connected sounds when plugged in

Using Windows. I have unplugged and plugged in the usb and it makes the 'donk' sound when plugged in.

BTW: there is a red light on the board that drives the printer... sometimes you can see it from the hole where the USB cable plugs in. However, if windows makes the normal sound when you plug it in then the board probably has power.

I got mine responding too but still no printing. After job kill it goes to Command waiting again.
There is a board with LED light. It glows red most of the time. What does that mean ?

If repetier is showing "xx Commands waiting" it seems to indicate that you are "connected" to the printer but not "communicating" with it.

I solved this problem by using a powered USB hub as it appeared that my USB port was not putting out enough power to drive the board.

This was on a MacBook Pro 13"

It never stops no matter what i do. I tried unplug both USB and power, restart application but nothing helps.
I can control the motors only after pressing HOME but running the job says Printing but even heater is not coming on.

Printer works with Cura but not with repetier.
I have 2 repetiers, one from robo3dprinter.com and one from repetier.com.
Somehow they both work sometimes they both dont or one does and another one dont.

Perhaps i need firmware update ? Then why Cura has no problem with the printer ?
