Using simplify3d the printer is pausing on me. However when using the updated matter control it seems ok. Anyone know a reason the print may stop ? I see no obvious errors on the console when this happens.

    Communications?
Try another USB cable or, better yet, have Simplify3D start the print from the SD card. See if it pauses then.

Sorry to ask this, but how do I tell Simplify 3d to print from the sd card?

    See screenshot. Read the buttons.

Yep. Put the sliced GCODE on the SDcard (name it 8.3 format like "myfile.gco") and then put it in the printer sd slot and click that button.

Simplify will show you files out there named that way and you can pick the one to print.

At that point (once it starts printing) if you pull the USB cable from the computer (or printer) it will keep right on printing.
You can't (at least, last time I checked) shutdown Simplify3D while it is printing as that will abort the print, but if you just unplug it... no worries :)

Maybe, but not generically. My printer machine is Windows 10 -- working fine.

The only difference *maybe* is that it is Windows 10 Pro (so I could remote desktop into it).
But, really, I doubt that makes a difference.

yea, weird. Is your machine a surface 3? could be some power optimizations they added maybe, which is one of the comments in improvements.... either way, I didn't know about SD card printing. like it more, doesn't tie up my PC!

No, it is a older quad-core desktop box that I built. Originally with Windows 7 and just kept upgrading it.
