    Hi Guys,
Im pretty keen to do some printing with Taulman's Nylon 618 when my printer arrives (after working with PLA and ABS) I was wondering if anyone had already printed with the filament and if anyone knows the maximum temperature Robo can handle with the hot-end?

Any help would be awesome..... counting down the days now!

With the standard peek hotend that robo has. Max temp is around 240

Also, you can work around this if you want to modify it, but the stock firmware on units shipping now limits temp to 230. Probably best to go to an all metal hot end if you're planning on going outside of the lower temp materials. There are quite a few good lower temp materials out now and coming out soon though that you may want to consider.

    Sounds good!
Ive seen some posts about the E3D Hot-End!
Thanks for your input, ill see how it goes at 230deg and go from there!
Taulmans say it should print from 230-260 so hopefully it should work well!

    Regards

I print with the taulman 618, I have the e3d and print at 245 degrees . Cool stuff but it warps like crazy on big prints.
I do not have a heated print bed, that might help with the warping.
I would master PLA first before trying new things. It will keep your blood pressure down :)

John, What are you printing on? I don't think the 618 sticks well to the same surfaces as ABS or PLA.

[IMG]Printing on Blue painters tape with a coating of clear elmers glue and some hairspray for extra extra hold.

small footprint things print well , large flat things warp a lot.

here is a vase I did with 618.

Isn't that the 645? The 618 is a natural white.

Yes it is 618, it is just one perimeter and the flash makes it look silvery
