Check out crutchfields website. They now say expected in may.
Same comment as in other thread that is exactly like this thread.
I can't believe they delayed and raised the price.. wasn't it 1299? Website still says April but so glad i cancelled my pre-order. Should be illegal to accept pre-orders on products that were entirely vaporware
That is the whole point of doing it as a kickstarter, you are not pre-ordering (according to KS TOS) you are funding development and the reward is not guaranteed.
The main Robo website has it listed as a pre-order where you pay full retail instead of a deposit amount where the remainder is paid later (or, as when other retailers do it, payment is deferred until the actual release/shipping date).
Not to say the person you quoted didn't go through Kickstarter, but Robo has been taking "Pre-orders" for a long time now.
Anyone see or hear updates ? They were supposed to be on the ground at Foxconn today?
@daniel871 I know the kickstarter is over and you can pre-order, but it was never at the $1299 price on the site. Only the KS had that pricing, so I know @supernovae originally had the KS pricing.
Saw this on twitter 15 hours ago. $RBO pleased to announce that @ROBO3D is now an official re-seller of @Simplify3D software
Nice. They really need to be able to include that in the purchase price -- MatterJunk does not help their public image
Even if they give away S3D for free with a $1500 R2 it is still overpriced.
I can't find any sample prints from the R2 or even more detailed photos? How can we compare the R2 to other printers?
You literally can't. They aren't sending review models out to any reputable reviewers and the only people posting videos of the C2 are people trying to justify the expense they put into it.
I was not kickstarter, I pre-ordered on the website back in december when the ship date was late jan, then late feb, then late march (and we found out they weren't even manufacturing them yet) and i cancelled. My pre-order was 1299 as i ordered about 200 extra in filament when it was on sale at the time... (they holiday filament bundle sales)
line item on my invoice says " 1x The New Robo R2 Smart 3D Printer for $1,299.99 each"
So yeah, they rate jacked the printer when they announced the new manufacturing partner.
I cancelled my pre-order since i wasn't wanting to give a ~6 month free loan of 1500 bucks to Robo3d... but i also wasn't expecting the price to go up..
I have posted videos, pictures, etc ... I don't consider myself in that camp.
I DO wish that they would go with someone well known in the community at large for reviews. Even if you just send them a machine for a review period...
@supernovae Good to know, guess my memory is very faulty.
What printer did you purchase ?
Pre ordered the Robo R2 off the website. on 12/21/16
1x The New Robo R2 Smart 3D Printer for $1,299.99 each
1x "Dazzling" Bundle- 3 Spools of Pearl PLA for $59.99 each
1x Premier Bundle- "3-Pack" Specialty PLA for $79.99 each
Subtotal : $1,439.97 USD
Shipping : $0.00 USD
Total : $1,439.97 USD
Wild guess : R2?
You said "cancelled. My pre-order " did you shop around for another printer?
