    Hi, I am having some troubles with my robo3d r1... It has been working perfectly for the past 2-3 weeks, I ordered a new spool of PLA and noticed that I was getting bad prints (especially first layer when the fan is off), so I assumed that I was printing it too hot... I usually print at around 205 C for PLA (hexagon hot end).

    I tried to print at 190 C and the extruder won't turn. Every other movement works just fine, and if I manually feed the filament it extrudes flowlessly... So i am assuming it is a software problem of some sort...Is there somewhere where a minimum temperature is set?

    tl;dr: extruder wont turn from software commands if the temperature is < 200C, if manually fed it extrudes fine.

    Firmware. Newer firmware limits the MINTEMP of the extruder to like 195 I think.
    This is (IMHO) a bit high you should be able to go as low as 190.
    To fix it I think you are going to need to download, modify and reflash the firmware.

    Thank You.
    What is the best way to reflash the firmware? do i need special software or can it be done through mattercontrol?

    I am not familiar with doing it via matter control.

    I always use the Ardiuno IDE (download from aurdio.cc).
    You can download the firmware from here:

    http://help.robo3dprinter.com/Wiki/RoBo_3D_Firmware

    edit configuration.h (look for MINTEMP* ) and use the arduini IDE to upload to the printer. (instructions at that link)

    *it should be like this:
    #define EXTRUDE_MINTEMP 170
