rolled thread?

I've seen metric v/s imperial rods.

what about cut thread v/s rolled?
3d print novice, with just enough machining knowledge to make me a danger to myself.
I would think at small moving increments a more precision surface could count as much as math rounding error. binding? skipping? reliability? rolled would win on all of them.

on the plus side, apparently drunkenness is a characteristic of thread production.
