I am using Slic3r within Repetier host and everything was going great but all of the sudden my slicing of parts started taking forever. At slicing parts took at most a few min but now I am seeing times closer to 30+ min to slice the same part. Any ideas as to what could be causing this?

can you send a couple stl of the files you are trying to slice and we cans see if they do the same for us

How complex are the objects most of mine slice in less than 1 minutes even the really complex single parts slice pretty quickly. The only time I see a real slow down s when I fill the bed with more than one object then it can take more but the longest I have seen was 7 min.

If I were to start looking at things I would check system resources on your computer

I have attached one file that is taking a long time to slice. I am slicing it at .5 scale also. When I went to slice it, the slicer took 12 min to complete, during the slicing I checked my memory usage and it said that only 15% of my ram was even being used. I cant seem to find any reason it would take so long.

I keep attempting to upload the file but for some reason it keeps not letting me add the file on the forum
    http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:29114
there is the file. I scaled it to 50% size and it took 12 min to slice. Also a quick question i am trying to turn off my raft layer but for some reason when i set it to zero when i click save it switches it back to 1 layer, any one have this problem?

OK so I got that file form thingverse and just plopped into my slicr as is from thingverse and it sliced in about 86.xxx second and then I put it through teh clean up in netfabb and the sliced teh repaired file and it sliced in abou t86.ccc sec about 7/10 of a second faster.

Here is teh actual log file

so I am not sure what the issue is I have had at times an object take a short time I think the longest was 8 minutes right of the top of my head but have also had some that went way beyond that but I never finished those I simply shut down repetier and restarted it and the object sliced but in just a few minutes so sometime slic3r does hang

I attached two files but had to add the extra ".txt" to get the forum to allow it to be uploaded

the first is teh file directly from thingiverse the one with"_rep" in the name is teh files repaired in repetier

Check your AC Adapter... my Dell thought its oem adapter wasn't 90W any more.... and slicing took ~10x longer to complete because the laptop switched to 400 MHz instead of 2.2GHz (sheesh!).

I have noticed this type of slowdown as well. At least once sliced they seem to print OK.
